Positive Behavior System:
We will use a “golden ticket” behavior system. Students will receive a behavior ticket whenever they are following or exceeding expectations. This will including using DWP skills, practicing good citizenship, exhibiting our weekly theme, or going above and beyond for other students or adults. On Friday, tickets will be drawn to receive classroom reward coupons.
At the start of 2nd quarter, students will earn credits in which they can spend for time spent reading to their buddy class, having lunch in the classroom, swapping seats in the classroom, bringing a blanket to school, homework pass, etc...
Behavior Infraction System:
We will use a flexible behavior system to best fit the needs of every student. When students are breaking classroom rules, as set by the teacher, they will receive up to two warnings. Once the behavior has become a class disruption the student will receive an appropriate school consequence such as loss of recess, an apology, etc. The teacher and student will conference at recess to come up with a plan in order to aid in alleviating the problem. If the same problem repeats itself, the child will have a parent referral ( a referral form will be sent home) in order to involve parents in order to continue to work toward a fix. Consequences, behavior plans, after school detentions, etc. will be at the discretion of the teacher.
At the start of the start of 2nd quarter, the students will now have DWP cards. They will begin each day with a $5 deposit into their "checking" account. As infractions occur, it will be noted on their DWP card and money will then be deducted from their account.
